Tiny Cars and Bestie Friends

Thursday, June 27, 2013

I was awake for an oh so very long time last night writing lesson plans. Don’t get me wrong, I really and truly love making worksheets and thinking about activities, but this morning I have visions of factor trees and tally charts dancing in my head. Good think I don’t have to reach very far for this week’s blog post.

Last weekend I took a whirlwind trip to D.C. to visit the Toremeister. I was only there for about 24 hours, but it was absolutely worth every minute. We road around in Smart Cars, drank champagne while getting pedicures, saw a high school friend perform in the national tour of Anything Goes, ate ridiculous rhubarb pie, and then ate ridiculous pancakes. A lovely weekend with my favorite [supposed to be] History Day champions (Remember that story? I wrote about it here), Torey and Michael.

And then, we woke up Sunday morning to the most wonderful news of all, my summertime roommates and very good friends are engaged! To each other! Bring on the wedding planning.

I was so happy to have a weekend to kind of recharge me before the stress of serious Pre-Service Training this week. It will help me to remember all the wonderful support I have when finding out my very important test scores later today! Ahhhhhhh!
