For three years in a row now, George and I have dedicated the first or second weekend of fall to some kind of fall-related activity. Two years ago it was Young’s Jersey Dairy and a sunflower field, one year ago it was an epic corn maze and pumpkins, and this year we opted for apple picking in Wisconsin.
Last year we tested out Apple Barn in Elkhorn, WI and fell in love with the family-run atmosphere, the apple varieties, the fruit wine, and, most importantly, the apple cider doughnuts. This year we ended up going the same weekend as their Applefest, complete with bounce houses, a craft fair, and a mesmerizing balloon animal artist.
Spending the day picking apples and tasting wine and eating way too many doughnuts was the perfect way to welcome fall.
Then, today we had quite the adventure of renting a U-Haul to pick up our much anticipated new bed frame. We’ve been researching and comparing and saving for months and we finally have a grown-up bed! One of my most favorite activities is putting together IKEA furniture, and I’m so grateful to have found my perfect IKEA construction partner in George.
