In October, George and I traveled to New York City – we saw long-time friends, explored the city, and took the ferry to Ellis Island, but the highlight of the trip was watching George accept an Edward R Murrow award for a piece he did for Rivet Radio.
When they started playing the clip of the piece and George’s voice rang out through this room full of journalism superstars, the tears definitely started flowing. I felt so proud and amazed and happy for him. George has worked so hard to pursue this dream of radio production, and he’s already created beautiful and provocative and important pieces. I can’t wait to see where his dream leads him (and us!).
